Around this time, a lot of us may be considering a dietary cleanse of sorts — you know, to kinda to kick our new, better, and noticeably more awesome selves into high gear. Rather than taking a regimented approach, I prefer utilizing a style of cleansing I call “organic cleansing.”

Recently, I shot a few informational videos for Navitas Naturals to talk about the benefits of a few of their superfood products. The videos turned out pretty fun, and are a great 101 on how to use these “new” foods. Here’s one on goji berries.

I’ve been making this super cool jam recipe made from acai berries and chia seeds for a while now at home, and I wanted to demonstrate just how easy it is to make it yourself. You can view this episode along with my other videos under the Cooking Show section, HERE.

I’m one of those people who gets really excited about Thanksgiving. I love the experience of everyone stopping all the fancy, important, day-to-day-life-stuff, and for just a little while, taking the time to focus on what’s really important: eating ridiculous amounts of good food spending time with the ones you love and being appreciative of what life has in store.

Similar to the traditional Greek sesame candy “Pasteli,” which is made with honey and sesame seeds, these superfood candies take advantage of yacon syrup’s more complex flavor and healthy benefits. Crunchy and chewy at the same time, these all-natural candies are addictingly delicious. If you cannot find pre-roasted/toasted sesame seeds, use raw ones — just pop them in the oven for 5 minutes at 350 degrees ahead of time.
